Memorial weekend! Up 1 lbs!

I know, I know, I tried really hard...I think I gained a little by smelling the good food we had for the Memorial Day. I'm 141.2 today...but I tried really hard today to stay below the allowed calorie count and hopefully tomorrow I'll be down 2 lbs!!! I'll be going out of the country for 4 weeks, and that means that I won't have the scale with me and I will be eating out a lot. I will start the maintenance phase as soon as I get there...and I will continue to report as much as I can. I think you can measure your success if you are able to maintain your weight after the protocol, so I will continue to post.

Tuesday 5/20 - down to 140.4 lbs

Phiu! That was hard, but I made it back to Saturday's weight! How? I walked 35 minutes yesterday! Up and down the hills, fast pace. I drank 2 liters of water (usually I'm happy if I can get down 1) and ate 1 apple around 4pm and a broiled chicken breast with a few artichoke leaves for dinner. I guess this was my equivalent of a steak day. I will repeat the menu today and see what happens with the scale tomorrow! I can hardly wait!

Monday, 5/19 - Up 3 lbs!

After getting down to 140.4 on Saturday morning, I had a setback! We are remodelling our kitchen and we are also painting the house. So we had people over to help over the weekend. Since the handiman was not able to hook the new stove to the gas line over the weekend, so we had to cook on the grill and order out. So I was up the proverbial creek! However, it could have been worse! This morning I was 143.4. I am doing a steak day today and I will be drinking the smooth move tea all day...hopefully tomorrow I can be back on track.

Ups and downs...today 141.8 lbs

It's hard to keep from cheating... even though we all know that a few french fries can hinder your loss by a few days....and yet...pretty much everyone is doing it at one point or another! And the closer you are of your ideal weight the slower the loss and the harder to keep faithful to the VLCD. I probably have another 2 weeks to go and I plan on reaching 130 lbs. In the begining I wanted to get down to 125, but that's going to be almost impossible to achieve. I have a certain age and my methabolism is getting slower by the minute... plus I don't want to have hanging skin and I am already seing some...the skin on my hands and arms looks like raisins! And yes, I want to be skinny, but so much as to show 10 yrs older than I really am...

May 12th - 143.8 lbs

Back from OKC...I survived the trip in more ways than one (4 tornadoes touched ground in OKC in one day!). Even though I did not have my scale with me and I ate only in the hotel restaurant which is not health oriented, I think I did good. I lost 3.2 lbs in one week! Overall since the start of this journey I lost 10 lbs.
I have checked around to see what is my ideal weight. For my age and my frame, I should be 126 lbs. So I have 18 lbs to go....the loss will slow down though...but even if I lose 10-12 lbs, I will be extatic! I am starting to do some walking to increase the metabolism...wasn't able to do it before, but now that my loos is dwindling I have to. I will also start to post daily.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to help my body continue to lose at the same speed, I'd rally appreciate it.

Hello from Oklahoma City

Hello Everyone,
Yes, I am in OKC! I travelled on Sunday...but did not get access to the internet until now.
I was really afraid I would have to drop off this contest....my fear was that my HCG and siringes would be confiscated by airport security at the check in point! We live in a small towm and after 9/11 the airport security has been seraching every single suitcase, either it was a carry-on or a checked in. However, I guess things are better now, cuz they did not checked my luggage. I put the HCG amber bottle in a small thermos and my 6 siringes in my make-up pouch and thy went! The trip was 6 hrs, and when I got to my destination the HCG was still cool, si I popped it in the fridge and come Monday morning I had my shot! However, I cannot tell you how much I weigh, because I could not take my scale with me....yes, I know we have to weigh ourselves every day, but that is heavier than a train! I just have to keep my VLCD...and I've been pretty good about it....the only transgression is the 1-2 drinks at the hotel during happy hour. The drinks are free, you see, but I only have rum and diet cola(no carbs, just some empty calories). And not even that much, cuz they put half of the alcohol shot in the drink, so I figured 2 drinks makes not more than one regular 50ml shot. That makes about 100 calories and I am substracting that from the 500 per day I am allowed. But I guess we'll see when I get back home on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed!
I do not know if I'll be able to post again until them...even if I was, I cannot report the progress...
Stay tuned...

Day 3, 4, 5 and 6

After a very disappointing start...maybe too much loading and not very strict VLCD, I am slowly coming around! Today I was 147 lbs ...but I have to tell you it is very hard not to cheat...a drop of salad dressing, a sliver of cheese, 1/2 tbs of creamer in the coffee, not enough water...they all make a BIG difference when you weigh daily! To top this off, next week I will be out of town for business; I do not know if I'll be able to pass the airport security with 6 siringes and the amber vial od HCG. If they confiscate them, I will have to stop and maybe drop off this challenge. I only had one 5K vial and if I lose it to customs, that will be IT for me. Keep your fingers crossed!
